WHAT A SHOOT!
It was the 9th Annual Shoot for a Cure which raises funds for Lymphoma and Leukemia research. Mark Gagliardi and his golden-hearted crew of assistants made the event run like clockwork. We had 130 shooters, many of which were first-timers and they had a blast. Not only did they have a great day on the course (about 84°F and clear), but they backed it up with Tri-Tip/Chicken/Beans/Cole Slaw/Brownie Bites for lunch. The shooters were hungry and we were ready for them. From the impromptu survey I took in the clubhouse, the cheers for Tri-Tip were louder than the cheers for Chicken…but it was a very close race. After lunch, Teri tallied the scores while Mark G. and the S4AC crew raffled off a TON of great prizes…stuff like shotguns, pheasant hunting trips, Carhartt gear, custom knives, shooting gear and much much more. You really can’t believe their raffle until you see it.
DON’T CRY FOR ME…
Argentina was also added to this event as a “Money Station” as they call it. You can shoot the regular 5 pairs or for $10 you can shoot the random Argentina event with a chance to win raffle tickets for the targets you hit and shotgun raffle tickets if you hit over 8. And we had some lucky winners too! Check out John Bowman putting on an Argentina expo.
THE EVENT RESULTS
This event was Lewis Class this year because we weren’t allowed to hold it as an NSCA event due to a scheduling conflict with a shoot at another club. Lewis Class is a way of determining winners and shooting classes when holding a non-NSCA event. Here are the winners of this year’s event.

SPECIAL THANKS FROM MOORE N’ MOORE
Moore N’ Moore would like to thank the entire Shoot for a Cure crew and especially to Mark Gagliardi for all the work he puts into this event. The entire crew is nothing but professional and courteous to everyone. They’re truly a pleasure to work with. Also, I’d like to thank George Carlson for all of his assistance. The shoot wouldn’t have been nearly as successful without your help, George! To Pat and Janet Moore for the wonderful lunch. To Carmelo and Ever for making it all run smoothly. And finally to Teri Brower for handling all scorekeeping duties.
We are REALLY looking forward to next year. There are even plans to make this event a 2-day shoot that will accommodate the corporate sponsors as well as our active NSCA shooters.
Thank you all for attending and we’ll see you in 2018!
