When a shooter registers online or registers at the club, a random number between 1 and 1,000,000 is assigned to that shooter. Even if a shooter isn't playing the option, they will also get a random number (I'll explain why later). Then we sort all of the players from highest to lowest random number and then we can assign the players into "Buddies". How are they assigned? Easy. The shooters with the first two highest random numbers are paired together. The next two become another buddy-team and so on. The scores for each pairing are combined to determine the winner of the pot.
This is a cash only option and money splits between the "Buddies" with the highest score. Below is more detail how it works.

- Each shooter has the option of participating. This is not included as part of the entry fee. The fee to play Buddy Up is current $5.00. Like our other options, you can only be entered by paying cash or check.
- When shooters pre-register online or register on shoot day, our web server will randomly assign each shooter with a number between 1 and 1,000,000.
- The TV Scoreboard in the clubhouse will display the buddy up teams as people register and will sort them from highest random number to lowest.
- Once all of the scores are in, the combined totals will be tallied for each buddy group.
- The pair of buddies with the highest combined score will win the pot and split it 50/50.
Example: If 50 shooters play Buddy Up for $5.00, that’s $250.00 in the pot. The highest scoring buddies will then split that cash 50/50. There are no classes and/or handicaps that comes into play. Winning is solely based on the team with the highest combined score.

In the event of a tie, the shooters will all split the money evenly.
If there is an odd number of shooters playing Buddy Up, Moore N Moore will put up $5.00 and assign random numbers to every shooter that is NOT playing Buddy Up. The shooter with the highest random number from this set will be placed into the Buddy Up pot (that's why we assign everyone a random number). This new shooter will be paired with the original odd numbered shooter to make a team. |
